Terre Haute auto accident takes man’s life

WTHI reports that a vehicle was traveling at unsafe speeds and making unsafe lane changes before a fatal Terre Haute auto accident occurred.

The Terre Haute auto accident happened near Ninth and Cherry streets around 1 a.m. The vehicle left the road and struck a tree.

The driver was taken to the hospital after the Terre Haute auto accident. The 26-year-old passenger suffered serious head injuries and was killed in the crash.

The driver had a blood alcohol level of .15 and is facing charges for his involvement in the Terre Haute auto accident.

Man killed in Terre Haute auto accident

Icy roads are to blame for a two-vehicle Terre Haute auto accident that killed one person, reports WIBQ-FM.

The Terre Haute auto accident happened when a minivan headed east on Illiana Drive crashed into a truck.

The elderly driver of the truck was taken to the hospital but was pronounced dead after the Terre Haute auto accident. Several people in the minivan were taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

Semi driver faces charges in Terre Haute truck accident

WTHI-TV reports that the driver of a semi-truck who caused a fatal Terre Haute truck accident faces several charges related to that accident.

The 50-year-old truck driver rear-ended an SUV that was stopped at a stop light. The 25-year-old driver of the SUV was fatally injured. The truck driver admitted to smoking crack cocaine the night before.

According to police reports, he had three previous convictions for operating while intoxicated, one from June 2010.

Will Social Security Disability benefits last?

The Wall Street Journal reports that the Social Security Disability system is not financially sustainable, according to the Congressional Budget Office.

The program was initially developed to help people who were permanently disabled, however over the years the program has expanded benefits. In the past two years alone, the number of people receiving social security disability benefits has grown by 10%.

An additional problem with the system is that there are no term limits, so people can receive benefits indefinitely.
